That's just the basis information of who we are, keep reading this post and you'll know more about us.
So, today I decided to write about myself and tell you the story behind Miss Modish Boutique and why I started it. Please keep in mind that the story that I’m about to tell you is a little personal as my goal is to allow you to see the person behind this small business to hopefully create trust. I also wanted to inspire someone to push hard in spite of hardship.Â
Without further a due,
Early life:
I was 9 years old when I first watched my first red carpet event. I remember falling in love with every dress that I saw there that I wanted nothing but to make and wear them. Knowing that I couldn’t saw or wear them, I decided that the best thing that I could do for myself in that situation was to draw the dresses that interested me the most. Before I knew it, I found myself drawing and designing clothes off the back of my head. I’ve always the passion of seeing women become their best self through the nicest clothing. Of course, there was a special woman that I have always dreamed of dressing, and that was my mother. My mom, Francoise, was such a beautiful and amazing woman who feared and loved God in spite of her suffering. and even from a young age I wanted nothing but to finally bring laughter and joy to her life that I couldn’t wait to see her wear the best clothes that the world had to offer.
Â
At age 16, after we came to America, I was introduced to an Apparel class where they thought me how to sew. I was so in love with that class and hated the fact that it was only going to last one semester. What I loved about that class however, was knowing that I could bring my designs to life which I did. With the knowledge that I gained from that class, I was able to make my prom dresses for both my senior year and my husband’s senior year as I dreamed to attend the art institute of Dallas to become a Fashion Designer.
However, unfortunately, my dream of becoming a fashion designer was delayed and later canceled. My mom who was my greatest inspiration ended up passing away just two months after I turned 18. And so, I became homeless for a while before I could find a job at a factory where I was able to support myself, my sister and her unborn child at the time. My life between the ages of 18 and 21 years old was filled with hardship, mistakes, and wrong turns. But I thank God that in spite that, I still had so much love from my husband, my niece Destiny, my nieces from my husband’s side of the family one of which became my maid of honor only at age 9. These 4 kept me alive and smiling.
 Anyway, moving on.
I was finally able to follow my dream of attending the Fashion Institutes, only did I know that my previous experiences and hardships would have completely changed my perspective in life. So, being a fashion designer turned out not to be what I wanted to do with my life after all even though I still love fashion. I still pursued college as it was always my dream to have a degree. Education is very important to me. Â
WHY MISS MODISH?
After realizing that being a fashion designer wasn’t after all what I wanted to do in life, I felt lost. And even though I was still attending college at a different University than the one that offered the fashion program, I was still wondering how I could use my talent and passion for Fashion. Praise the Lord Jesus-Christ, my God and Savior who have always has a way to guide His children through unexpected paths.
While Pregnant, depressed, lost, and a stay-at-home mom who believed that her life was over, I found myself scrolling through Facebook when I came across an ad that talked about affiliate marketing. I saw this ad as an opportunity to contribute to my family and to the world. And so, I started a blog page that I called Style for Curves which I created to spread body positivity among curvy women, and tips on what to wear and how to wear it.
Not only I loved what I was doing as a fashion blogger, I also loved the opportunities that I had to partner with such talent and amazing designers, brands, and manufacturers around the world. Everything I learned and saw from them gave me the desire to build my own clothing boutique.
So, the answers to why I started this boutique are:
The passion that I have had for fashion for most of my life
The need to bring joy and confidence to other people’s life, and,
Let be honest, money. Even though I’m thankful that my husband has a job that pays him well enough to support our family, I still felt that an extra income was still needed to help me pay for school and medical bills.
